Sentinel 33 Defensive Tactics

Inspired by Ezekiel 33 — “I have made you a watchman…”

Evidence-based training rooted in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. Since 2014, we’ve equipped Law Enforcement Officers and civilians with arrest & control, de-escalation, ground control, weapon retention, and scenario-based skills.

Courage. Clarity. Control.

Ground Control

Tactical techniques and physical skills officers use to control a combative subject on the ground during a physical altercation

Distance Management

Tactics used to create and maintain a safe distance from a suspect to gain time, space, and control, allowing for better assessment, de-escalation, and response options.

Takedowns/Weapon Retention

Physical control techniques aimed at bringing a suspect to the ground while simultaneously securing the officer's firearm and other duty gear, preventing the suspect from gaining control of those items.

What officers gain?

  • Confident distance management and clinch entries

  • Takedowns appropriate for duty gear (with safety focus)
